What in the world is CBT?

CBT, or Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, is a frequently used approach in therapy that targets the way a person thinks and how these thoughts influence their choices.  Many people believe that their thoughts are correctly making sense of their world, and will lead them to helpful behaviors, but it is not uncommon for people experiencing depression and anxiety to have thoughts that are simply not true.  This type of therapy will help a person better understand their thought patterns, and make choices based on a more accurate assessment of their life situation.  Also, I know that behaviors influence thoughts, so sometimes feeling better results from making small changes in their life.
